Ethan has been so sweet, he is just showing his love to everyone even the horses. But the cutest story has been when he kept on giving his Aunt Becky hugs and I said your sure giving Becky a lot of love and he said, "I gave her my heart, because I love her" pause "I love her!"

The Everything post...
We had a fun birthday for Erik we went to Portland and eat at PF Changs with some friends we made though Eriks school. It was fun, we went over to a bookstore that is like a whole city block and looked around. Then came back home and the boys went and hit the 60 golf balls I gave Erik for his birthday, and Hailey and I just started talking and found out that she knows my sister and a ton of guys that I knew- (I pulled out the old Rexburg album and of course its a small small world.)
So Erik was born in 82 not 81- So now you can laugh at me... I could go fix it but I like to laugh at me to.
The GARDEN!! look how it has grown, I have been making the best salads lately, oh and the taste is so hardy. Sad to say, I think the birds got my pea plants, there were holes like someone just stuck their finger in there. So sad peas are the best part.... I only have 2 that made it.
So at church today Ethan got his first shiner, it was bubble time and he got a little to excited and tripped and landed on the shoe of another kid, who also got a bonk on the head- (I think that is what happened) I will have to take a picture tomorrow so you can see it! Its pretty good! You can kinda see it in his eye here, but it is already a lot darker.

"Mom, do I need to lower my standards to keep my friends?"
This title comes from a talk given by Elder W. Craig Zwick and in it he tells a story about a boy named Ethan and it is so crazy because it was exactly what I need to hear in a situation I have been going through. I babysit a 6 yr old girl that is not a member of our church, which is totally fine. But her mom told me last week she doesn't want her daughter to be tough our religion which is ok, but then when she came on Friday I really realized I'm not deliberately teaching her anything I am just living it. And so when she was getting picked up I talked to her mom and said I don't think you want me to babysit anymore because I am living my religion daily and if she is saying or doing things that is going against what we are trying to teach then I don't think that is fair for either of us. She was totally like, yeah I think that is the best thing to do. So it was my last day babysitting, I have been her sitter for the last 9 months we will miss her, but I think it is good to know that we don't need to lower our standers just for some friends or to get paid. We are still friends and I am sure they will come swimming in our pool but for now I dont have to have my Thur. and Fridays tied up anymore! Yaaaa
(Side note, I think why she thought I was teaching her was one time see saw one of our FHE coloring pages and she wanted to color it and she took it home, I wasn't here giving her all the primary lessons one after another, just so you know! I should have hu!!)
Elder Zwick said this to Ethan to answer the question, "Don't do it, Ethan. Never forget that you are a son of God. He loves you. Live by your standards. Stand up for what you believe in. Sometimes it is not easy, and you may be standing alone for awhile. Look for friends with integrity and character, then go to them and express appreciation for their examples. You might even find someone who has been feeling as lonely as you. Pray for guidance and protection from the Lord. He will sustain you. He will become a trusted friend, and you will discover that your example will attract many friends who will take courage from your strength of character."

$3.59! What's yours??
So luckily here in Portland we don't have to even pump our own 3.59 gas, that makes me feel better about having to pay so much, (but not really) While driving home from the temple most of the signs said 3.60-70 something.... AAAAAA so here are some good tips to read about filling up!
*Only buy or fill up your car or truck in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. Remember that all service stations have their storage tanks buried below ground. The colder the ground gets, the more dense the gasoline, when it gets warmer gasoline expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening....your gallon is not exactly a gallon. In the petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role. A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business. But the service stations do not have temperature compensation at the pumps.
*When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. If you look you will see that the trigger has three (3) stages: low, middle, and high. You should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping on the fast rate, some other liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back int o the underground storage tank so you're getting less worth for your money.
*One of the most important tips is to fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank the less air occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates faster than you can imagine. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. Unlike service stations, here where I work, every truck that we load is temperature compensated so that every gallon is actually the exact amount.
*If there is a gasoline truck pumping into the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--most likely the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the dirt that normally settles o n the bottom. Hope this will help you get the most value for your money.
Thanks Ang- these were good!

Can you wiggle your ears??
I had to put this in here because when Ethan came home the night this happened he talked about it so much that I thought he found a friend at the church. But when Erik told me this story I was so happy that Ethan was there. I love our dear Prophet, he has already connected with Ethan with his great ability to wiggle his ears!
It is so true, what We do our Children Will Follow! I am realizing that more and more, as Ethan is saying and doing more and more of what Erik and I do, and what others do!
So that makes me so careful of what I watch, listen to, and say! Thanks President Monson

Countdown is on..
So I really cant wait until I go home, and the date inst set in stone yet, Well Erik doesn't know if he can handle me gone for 3 weeks without a car, but I am talking him into it. So only 19 days left till the day I want to leave!! My plan is to go stay with my Sister for a few days then head home and get the trailer ready for the big camping trip reunion. Which looks like its going to be Cold! But I will be with family so thats all that matters to me!
This part is more for me- I need to write down all the things I need to get done before I leave!
1st- Do the touch up work in the bathroom
2nd- FHE packets- (do 13 turn into Emily before I leave)
3rd- Erik's Birthday on the 16th! (any ideas?)
4th- Plan the First Arter Reunion for when I get back! (this is there first one, and Erik and I are in charge of it, so I am in charge of it!)
5th- Mow the garden area/ and thin out the garden
I have to stop there because I don't know how I'm going to do it all anyways- that's not counting all the other big things like 3 hr. Dentist visit tomorrow.. Not fun (I am going to the dental collage and they told me about a 3 hr. visit.) Thanks Alisha for watching Ethan that whole time!!
So I am sure you wont see me for a while- unless I just need a break! Ok I dont know why but the size of all of this got mest up and I dont know why I cant get it to go bigger! sorry for the squinting!

Mine!
So Ethan is in this "mine" stage which is slowing down quite a bit but reading this makes me feel better that he's not just being a brat, he trying to be an individual.
it came from baby center-
When your preschooler announces, "Mine!" while clinging to his truck in a playgroup, this isn't so much a selfish refusal to share as it is a cognitive achievement. He's now able to see himself as an individual and, as such, capable of ownership. His declaration of "mine" is his way of saying he understands that you — and the other children — are separate from him.
Ethan is a non stop Whyer- it is "Why" this and "Why again mom.." it usually end up by saying well Heavenly Father made it that way. It is so funny but really he never stops talking. Yesterday we went shopping and this basket fell off the table and the sales lady picks it up and Ethan as loud as can be, say "THANKS LADY" she started laughing as did I- and then this guy came in with his dog and Ethan says- "Look mom, He's returning the dog." Which I don't know where he knew returning.. but he said it and of course another lady started laughing! He is pushing my buttons lots of times but he has been so sweet with his words- Like when he ripped his ABC chart in half he said "Sorry mom, it was an accentent." I couldn't get mad at that. He is our little talker and we love him so much!

Bathroom remodel
So I am sick of looking at my pink walls and flower wallpaper, but while I was pulling down some wallpaper this is what you see out my window, isn't that beautiful!! The rain makes such nice things, as bad as I dislike it!!
So here is a picture before I totally take down all the wallpaper. You can see how nicely it matches the carpet- Which will be coming up to!! Well I have a lot to do today so I better get back to it!

Have you ever wondered?
So Erik came home from school and told us we were going to have a family date night he even said it had a name. So I was excited because usually we drive around and look for somewhere to eat and by the end of the night we are bugged at each other because we are so indecisive! So we ate at home and we got in the car and he said "Have you ever wondered... Which is better TCBY or Baskin Robbins? " and I said yes we wondered that last time we went for ice cream. So we went to TCBY and got 1 cup Chocolate Peanut butter Truffle and went over to Baskin Robbins and got Peanut Butter 'n Chocolate and we he have at home Breyers Reese's ice cream and I totally loved TCBY I don't know if I just didn't think that I would because it is in a run down looking place or what, but that is the one I liked the best! And it is even the healthiest! Yay for yogurt!
And if only it was yesterday we could have gotten the 31cent ice cream at Baskin Robbins!
So after that he asked me if I wonder anything else, and I said "I wonder where the best place is to get a camera?" so we went to Best Buy and Radio Shack well I wish I could say I have a camera but I cant, I think we have made our way in to Best Buy to look about 3 time but we always think we are going to get a better deal, but I would defiantly say Best Buy was better- Anyways we are trying to decide what we need right now. I want a big nice one but really we dont have the money for the one I want, and I was thinking there is this one my friend has that is drop prof, freeze prof- Just in case it gets put in the freezer... And water prof which would be sweet to take pictures of Ethan in the pool this year! So I need some advice from all you pro's out there, Do I get the kid prof one that is about 280 and then when we actually have money get the supper nice one, or do I just breakdown and get the semi-nice but better zoom one that is like 350ish? I just want a camera!
The family date was great, it was just nice to get out of the house for the first time this week- And I was just happy that Erik was on the ball and planed something because I usually just go get a redbox movie and call it good! Thanks for thinking outside the norm babe!
